Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly’s Breakup Gets a Savage New Chapter — But the Viral Confession Has One Big Problem

A fabricated screenshot turned Megan Fox photos into an imaginary confession. MGK’s denial changed the story.

Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly Confession

Machine Gun Kelly has publicly rejected a viral social media post that appeared to show him expressing deep regret over his failed relationship with Megan Fox. The musician, whose real name is Colson Baker, responded after an X post circulated images of Fox alongside a supposed confession blaming himself for losing her.

The message portrayed the rapper as devastated by seeing his former fiancée looking glamorous and attracting admiration. But there was one major problem: according to MGK, the statement was fabricated.

His response was blunt, dismissing the supposed tweet as fake. The incident is another example of how easily fictional celebrity statements can become widely shared entertainment news.

The confession that apparently never happened

The viral post circulated on October 12 and combined recent photographs of Fox with older imagery of the former couple. It included what appeared to be a screenshot of a message attributed to MGK.

The alleged statement described the singer as regretting the loss of his former partner and struggling with reminders of her beauty. It was precisely the kind of emotionally charged confession that attracts attention across social platforms.

The story combined a famous breakup, eye-catching photographs, public embarrassment, and the suggestion of lingering romantic feelings. But MGK directly challenged the message's authenticity. His public denial fundamentally changed the story.

Rather than an unexpected confession about Fox, the incident became an example of celebrity misinformation spreading through an apparently credible screenshot.

Their relationship has always attracted attention

Fox and MGK began their relationship in 2020 after meeting while working on the film Midnight in the Switchgrass. Their romance rapidly became one of Hollywood's most recognizable celebrity relationships.

The two shared unusually intense descriptions of their connection and frequently appeared together at public events. MGK proposed in January 2022. However, the relationship experienced highly publicized difficulties before ending in late 2024.

Their breakup did not end their connection. In March 2025, Fox gave birth to their daughter, Saga Blade. The former couple have subsequently navigated parenthood while no longer being romantically involved.

That history helps explain why a supposed confession from MGK could attract immediate attention. Their relationship was already associated with dramatic public declarations and unconventional expressions of romance.

But recognizable history makes accuracy even more important. A fabricated statement should not become believable simply because it resembles the way two celebrities once spoke about each other.

The internet keeps writing relationships after they end

One of the most revealing aspects of the controversy is the narrative being imposed on the former couple. The fake message presented Fox as an unattainable former partner and MGK as a man overwhelmed by regret. It encouraged readers to interpret photographs of Fox as evidence that her former fiancé must be suffering emotionally.

That assumption is unsupported. Physical appearance does not establish the emotional condition of a former romantic partner. Nor does a celebrity posting glamorous photographs provide reliable evidence about the private reactions of someone they previously dated.

The viral post transformed an ordinary collection of images into an imagined personal confession. Its apparent purpose was to make the audience feel as though it had gained access to MGK's private thoughts. In reality, his actual response rejected that narrative.

Co-parenting is the more consequential reality

Lost amid the fictional romantic drama is the fact that Fox and MGK share responsibility for their young daughter. Their relationship as parents involves considerations that extend far beyond whether audiences want them to reunite.

MGK has publicly praised Fox's parenting and emphasized her importance in their daughter's life. Those remarks are meaningful because they do not require the former couple to resume a romance.

Two people can acknowledge each other's importance as parents without revisiting the relationship that brought them together. That is a more practical reality than the dramatic storyline promoted by the viral post.

False screenshots are a celebrity news problem

The episode demonstrates how easy it is to manufacture a convincing celebrity narrative. A screenshot can be altered, a statement attributed to someone who never made it, and a familiar history used to make fabricated material seem authentic.

Once the image circulates, corrections may not reach everyone who encountered the original claim. MGK's denial does not tell the public everything about his feelings toward Fox, but it establishes that the circulating confession should not be reported as genuine.

Megan Fox does not need her former fiancé's supposed regret to validate her public image. And MGK should not have fictional emotions assigned to him because they make an entertaining headline. The most consequential fact is not what the rapper allegedly said. It is that someone else apparently tried to say it for him.
